JL Taylor Consulting has served Non-Profits organizations in the urban core for over a decade. JL Taylor consulting realized there are many more organizations with the heart to change dynamics for those without access to so many resources. But many of these are just starting, new, small and don’t have the capacity to hire staff or large consulting firms to help them become sustainable. Their desire is to share their knowledge and experience to help these startup non-profit organizations along their journey.
Non Profit
Guidance in establishing a new nonprofit, including filing state incorporation papers and 501C3 applications. We can also review policies and procedures.

Then there are multiple steps to filing with your state, tax exemption, and 501C3 designation. I’m more than willing to walk you through these steps.

Assessment
Review organizations back office systems, such as CRM, donation processes (online, cash, check, etc), budgeting and measurements. Make any recommendation for efficiency and future development needs.
A well defined and established back office system and methods/responsibilities can make a nonprofit put their best step forward in its programs. Compliance, procedures and best practices are all essential for the ongoing operations of a nonprofit. I have extensive background in management, budgeting, financial operations, donation backoffice processes, and more. Let me help you step forward in confidence.
Development
Planning
Review existing development processes, resources, and collateral. Create an annual development plan to guide an organization in diversifying and setting fundraising goals.
As an experienced Development director, I can help provide guidance in navigating an annual development plan, which lays out all the ways your organization can raise funds, including requirements for telling your story, measuring your outcomes/successes and organizing a plan to execute.
Grant Writing
Write grants as needed. Foundations can be a resource to help a nonprofit, but it should only be a portion of the funding. There are basic requirements for a nonprofit to be ready to apply for grants: documents, budget structure to support, and program measurables. Grants are not just writing and submitting but also about relationships with the funder. I can provide help with stepping up with you to put all this in place. I can research and write grants and/or train staff.
